Happy Birthday Itsy

Our little Itsy Spider is turning 6 today.
It is hard to believe that our little princess is so old.  She came into our lives weighing just a little over 5 lbs.
While she was in the hospital, a wise nurse with alot of experience told us that she was a dainty little thing.
Oh, how true her words came to be.
No one in our family has been as delicately pretty as she has been. She is one that contains a quiet beauty.
In a house filled with outgoing people, Hosanna is at times unnoticed until she starts to sing.  Oh, how she loves to sing.
Happy Birthday our little PRAISE giver.

I am a PROFESSIONAL!

I was having one of those days!  It was a day that I was sick of myself.  Sick of that fact that I am not really good at anything.  I have always just lived my life in "middle land".  I was a middle child who graduated in the middle of my class.  Don't get me wrong I am not at the bottom of the list for which I am thankful.  I am however lower than  all of the people who excel at all that they do.
Well, it was during dinner that the Lord once again showed me that He has a sense of humor.  We had just finished the last bit of food when I took over washing the dishes.  The older children were all busy so I started my piling artwork to let the air do the drying.

As I finished the last of the dishes and observed my beautiful art work, I felt as if the Lord had said, "See you are good at something. You are a professional stacker."  Tears rolled down my cheeks as I fought the urge to pee my pants.  I couldn't stop laughing...crying.  Once I composed myself, I walked into the living room only to see the next form of art work glaring back at me.
The laundry.  I am truly a professional.  Please don't be jealous.  You can be just as talented as me if you have enough children and work hard to balance the stacks and piles.

The Fingerprints of God

When I gaze into the face of this little treasure, I see what everyone else sees.  Her chunky cheeks warm my heart.  Her deep dark eyes energize my spirit.  But what I see most of all are the fingerprints of MY LORD, THE CREATOR OF HER LIFE.

I look upon the scriptures found in Psalms 139:13-16 from a whole new light.  Her version of this passage would read something like this:

 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my birth mother’s womb and my mother and father's heart.
 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you

when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
One of the fingerprints of God that blows my mind is the fact that during the time that Myla was being placed in her mother's womb, Bryan was in Guatemala.  It was there that we knew from the bonding experience he had with one of the orphan little girls

Bryan with the little princess who the Lord use to show us it was time to start our adoption journey.  Thank you little one for your sweet spirit.
that we were to adopt and to do it now.  Little did we know that as he wrote about this little girl not having a Daddy that our little girl was so loving placed into the womb of her birth mother so that one
day Bryan would be her daddy.
Praise you, Father, for placing her in his arms.

Reflecting Back On Our Arizona "Angels"

When we were in Arizona, we were extremely blessed to have "angels" chosen by the Lord to bless our journey more than we could have imagined.
The first family of "angels" was the of family Dave and Courtnie who moved to Arizona just one year ago.
Mama C, Mark, and Myla
We were blessed to have worshiped with them every Sunday prior to their move.  We were amazed, blessed, and shocked that the Lord had our little Myla born just fifteen minutes from our dear friends.
Josh and Myla
We had always wondered how we would handle our other children when we were in the hospital.
Mama C, Reagan, and Myla
We NEVER dreamed in a million years that sooooo many miles from home we would have friends we loved and trusted so close to the hospital.
Our families feeding ducks
They blessed us by picking us up at the airport, helping us find a rental car, watching our children for three days, buying items that I failed to pack at the last  minute, and
A time of bonding
providing entertainment for our children once we were out of the hospital.
ALL the kids and Bryan swimming on our last day together

The second family to extremely bless our trip was David and Kiersten .  I honestly had never met this wonderful family until we were in Arizona.  She had used Tracie Loux from Christian Adoption Consultants with the adoption of her little girl in July.  Once she received word that we were on our way to Arizona, she had an "adoption care package" ready for us.
Dave, Kiersten, and the Elliotts at Liberty Market
I didn't have to bring or buy any baby items except for what was needed on the plane!!  They provided everything from bottles, diapers, wet wipes, car seat, outfits, baby carriers and soooo much more.  We were able to have a wonderful dinner at their restaurant.  It was one of the best places we have ever eaten at.  It was a night to remember.
Thank you, my Arizona Angels.
We were blessed by your love...friendship...heart.  You will never know how special you made our trip.
Blessed.
Blessed.  Blessed.
Thank you

Enough Love

While on Tracie Loux's blog http://thespiritofadoption.wordpress.com/, I read the post
 I HAVE THIS BOX

I found her words to be very touching.  In it she explained her journey as an adopted child as well as a mother who adopted.  She shared words that I pray that Myla will feel.  She expressed how she journeyed to discover how loved she was. Here are her words:

"Loved by a birth mom, who gave me life.
Loved by a mom and dad, who showed me life.
Loved by Jesus, who gave me life everlasting."
Our sleeping beauty

My dear, sweet Myla may the love of your birth mother defeat the feelings of grief that may come crawling into your heart and mind.

May the love that Daddy and I pour out overpower any loneliness that creeps in.

May the love of our Heavenly Father wash any stains leaving you white as snow.

WE ALL LOVE YOU with a love deep enough to carry you through life.
